About NCPC The National Carrier Project Company (NCPC) is a special purpose company established in Jordan by Meridiam and Suez International to develop and implement the Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination & Conveyance Project. This project is one of the largest infrastructure initiatives in Jordan’s history, designed to enhance water security by providing a sustainable and reliable water supply. NCPC is responsible for the construction of a desalination plant on the Gulf of Aqaba, associated pumping stations, a conveyance pipeline from Aqaba to Amman, and a renewable energy site supplying approximately 30% of the project’s energy needs. About AAWDCP To address domestic water shortages and support economic development, the Government of Jordan—represented by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation and supported by USAID—launched the Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination and Conveyance Project (“AAWDCP”). The project includes a desalination plant at the Gulf of Aqaba, a c. 500 km conveyance system transporting potable water to Amman and a RE Plant / PV of 300 MW 65 Km North - East of Aqaba. It is being delivered as a PPP under a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Maintain, and Transfer (“DBFOMT”) model. The project is a national priority due to its importance in delivering a long-term, reliable, and sustainable water solution. ________________________________________ Role Overview The Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist Lead is responsible for: • Support internal & external benchmarking in construction and commissioning HSE issues. • Assess the Health, Safety and Environmental risk exposure through audit and where appropriate implement improvement plans with EPCC. • Communicate HSE policy and objectives, communication of emergency response & business continuity procedures, corrective actions. • Support the project company relations with external partners on health, safety and environmental issues (local authorities, contractors, equipment manufacturers, services providers, suppliers etc.) • Provide support for defining data parameters/KPI’s and coordinate data collection, support tools and reporting • Be accountable for, monitor and report on the safety and environmental activities (compliance and performance) identify points of improvement (strategy, programs, objectives and action plans) ________________________________________ Reporting Line: The Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist Lead will report to the ESG Director. ________________________________________ Location: Amman, Jordan, with regular travel to Aqaba and along the conveyance and the RE Plant. ________________________________________ How to Apply Interested candidates are invited to submit their CV to info@ncpc-jo.com with the subject line: “Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist Lead – NCPC Application”. What We Are Looking For • Candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Environmental / Health / Safety) or equivalent. • Must possess a valid Occupational Health and Safety certification, such as OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH, or other internationally recognized equivalent HSE certification relevant to construction and industrial site supervision. • English (Arabic is an advantage but not required). • At least 8 year(s) of working experience in the related field of Construction Site HS
